GroFin was invited to be part of the SME World Summit 2017, in recognition of its leading role in growing the SME sector in Africa and the Middle East. The landmark event saw Mohamed Hawary, GroFin MENA Regional Director, holding forth on the challenges that SMEs face in raising finance through traditional avenues, and how GroFin provides a unique combination of finance and business support to help SMEs counter growth challenges. The fifth edition of the largest entrepreneurship conference in the Middle East & North Africa region, the SME World Summit 2017, was held on 22nd March 2017 at the luxurious Jumeirah Beach Hotel, as a joint initiative of SPI Group, UAE’s No. 1 SME platform, and Dubai SME.
The conference was inaugurated by H.E. Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of the Department of Finance – Government of Dubai and attended by more than 2,000 entrepreneurs, business magnates, investors, heads of government departments and C-Suite executives. The event witnessed powerful keynotes and engaging panel discussions by international speakers and experts covering topics like entrepreneurship development, creating a winning corporate culture, SME finance, family business, digital branding, HR strategies, and employee happiness, among others. The summit also featured strategic workshops and an international podium with SME representatives from all over the world.
